Campaign for a Safer Michigan Statement on School Shooting in Uvalde, Texas

MICHIGAN – At least 19 children and two adults were killed in a mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, about 85 miles outside of San Antonio. The following response can be attributed to the Campaign for a Safer Michigan:

“We are grieving for the families that have been shattered by the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas and our sympathy goes out to the community that has been affected by this tragedy. Today we are left asking ourselves, how long must we wait for our lawmakers to take action to prevent another tragedy like this? And once again, we are calling on our lawmakers at every level to recognize that gun violence is a serious public health crisis and demand urgent solutions.”
